Recognizing Oswego County welcomes guest speakers

     Recognizing Oswego County (ROC) recognized three speakers who recently addressed the group to showcase how their respective organizations benefit Oswego County.

     Linda Brosch, of Cornell Cooperative Extension, spoke about 4H, which is celebrating its 91st anniversary in Oswego County. Focusing on science and projects such as robotics and solar power, 4H Clubs offer a sense of belonging and a positive adult influence. 4H members are involved in a number of activities and has seen many of its alumni grow to become leaders in their community.

     Cynthia Proietti and Rob Elia, of Oswego County BOCES, spoke of the variety of educational programs offered through BOCES such as; literacy, GED, culinary arts, automotive and cosmetology. Additionally, BOCES adult programs offer vocational training.

     Comprised of a cross section of Oswego County agencies and organizations, Recognizing Oswego County working together to share each member's unique expertise, experience and resources, to focus on community awareness for healthier more positive communities is Oswego County. ROC meets from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the second Thursday of each month. The meetings are open to the public and in October will be held at Camp Hollis.
