The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Wednesday to celebrate the Grand Reopening of our very own iHeart Oswego, which is also celebrating the 11th anniversary of its founding today, November 3. Oswego’s only comprehensive news and events website, iHeart Oswego was recently purchased by local author Bekkah Frisch following the retirement of previous owner Victoria Gailinas.

"iHeart Oswego has always been a huge supporter of the Chamber, and of our local business community," said Frisch. "We look forward to continuing to serve the Oswego and Fulton areas, and also to expanding our reach farther into Oswego County."

Taylor Davis of the Chamber said, "We congratulate Bekkah and her staff on this new venture, and we wish them great success."

The ribbon-cutting event was hosted by the Port City Café & Bakery, which has been serving as "home-base" for iHeart Oswego's all-volunteer staff since Gailinas's departure.

Frisch said, "Laurie has been kind enough to allow us to use her space for our weekly meetings, and she has graciously allowed us to hold our grand reopening here as well."

Attending the event were Chamber of Commerce ambassadors Rob Rolfe, Michele Hourigan, Daniel Capella, and Angela Cleary; Oswego County Legislator James Karasek; Bekkah Frisch, Gary Frisch, Paula McKalsen, Abigail McKalsen, Mark McManus, Jerry Maher, and Courtney Auston - all of iHeart Oswego; Taylor Davis and Sarah Broadwell from the GOFCC; Brittney Jerred of Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay's office; Caroline Shue of the Fulton Community Development Agency (CDA) and chair of the Fulton Special Events Committee; and Frisch's family members who are unaffiliated with iHeart Oswego, Kirk Frisch and Allison Pittsley.
