The faculty and staff at Charles E. Riley Elementary School, along with Principal Dr. Linda Doty and Superintendent Dr. Dean Goewey, marked the celebration of World Down Syndrome Day on Wednesday with matching t-shirts, mismatched socks and a lot of love and support for families and children with Down syndrome.

World Down Syndrome Day works toward creating a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome. The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.
