Write a commentRobert L. Vaughn, 89, a resident of Swift Street in Oswego, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in Syracuse.
Bob was born in Danbury, Connecticut, the son of the late Raymond and Marion (Williams) Vaughn. He had lived in Oswego for 59 years.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, and served in the Korean Conflict. He also served at the Army Security Agency.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years as a mechanic with Chamberlain Cadillac-Pontiac in Oswego. He had previously worked at the Oswego Castings Co.
Bob enjoyed fixing things and was very skilled at it. He was always looking for his next project. He loved to play golf and had been a member of the EZ Par Golf Club and the Stone Creek Golf Club.
He was a member of the American Legion.
He was the beloved husband of Jeanette (Bassett) Vaughn; the dear father of Kathleen (Richard) Delaney; and the loving “Papa” of Sean Delaney, Jenna (Michael) Nakoski, and Maia Delaney. He is also survived by a sister, Ardelle Jarvis.
Committal services with final military honors will be held at 11:00 Saturday, in All Saints Mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
