Robert W. Victory, Sr., 86, a former resident of the Town of Oswego, passed away Monday, at St. Luke Health Services.
Bob was born in Oswego, the son of the late John and Hilda (Wallace) Victory. He was a life resident. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Prior to his retirement, he was employed, for many years, as a carpenter with Father & Son Enterprises in Oswego. He was the husband of the late Jeanette (Johnson) Victory, who died in 2008. Bob was a member of the American Legion, and had been inducted into the Oswego Softball Hall of Fame. He was a long-time member of the Oswego Center Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Gail (Greg) Cooper of Oswego; a son Dennis Lee (Glenda Falise) Victory of Oswego; a sister, Bernice Allen of Oswego; a daughter-in-law, Linda Victory of Oswego; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Robert Victory, Jr., who died in 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Friday, at the Journey of Faith Community Center, formerly known as Oswego Center Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
