Born in Canton, NY, he was the son of the late Abraham and Elizabeth (McGregor) Gonyou Sr.
Roger was a moving/warehouse manager for Mayflower Moving Company and loved his work. He was an avid collector and especially enjoyed his NASCAR Diecasts and Eagles collections. He also loved his 1953 Ford Custom Line.
Roger is survived by his daughters Elizabeth (Raymond Tennant) Gonyou and Betty Burry, sons Roger Gonyou Jr. and Bryan Gonyou, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves siblings Larry Gonyou, Lloyd Gonyou, Donna Compo, and Kathy Kirkey behind.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife Carol Gonyou, and siblings Abraham Gonyou Jr., Gordon Gonyou, Keith Gonyou, and Carl Gonyou.
No Services at this time, however, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
