The Rural Health Network of Oswego County celebrates local health champions for National Rural Health Day on 11/16/17. National Rural Health Day is observed annually on November 16th for communities to celebrate their local Rural Health Network.

Rural communities in New York State are wonderful places to live and work. They are places where people know each other and work together to benefit the community. Rural communities must recruit and retain providers who are dedicated to meeting the unique healthcare needs of an ever-changing population who face a host of obstacles to obtaining healthcare services. The RHNOC recognizes local providers who have demonstrated leadership in improving the availability and delivery of services in Oswego County by awarding Rural Health Champions.

The Rural Health Network of Oswego County 2017 Health Champions are:

• Mario Magsino, M.D - Farnham Family Services Medical Director.

• Ellen Holst, RN - Oswego County Opportunities Senior Director of Health & Nutrition Services (Retired)

Oswego County is very fortunate to have providers who are constantly striving for efficient, meaningful, and appropriate healthcare services and we thank Mario Magsino and Ellen Holst for their dedication to the county. We will be formally thanking our health champions with the Rural Health Champion Award Ceremony in December.

Celebrate with us on 11/16/17 by thanking your local Rural Health Champions and recognizing your Rural Health Network!
