The 3rd Annual Ralph M. Faust Humanitarian Awards will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, June 25 at the Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Shelter Museum, 2 East Seventh Street Oswego, NY.
Each year, the Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Shelter Museum honors individuals based on their advocacy for the plight of refugees, past and present. The awards are given in the name of Ralph M. Faust, who was principal of the Oswego High School during the time when the nearly 1,000 European refugees of World War II were housed at Fort Ontario. Faust was instrumental in opening the doors of the Oswego School District to 187 refugee children at it is only fitting that the awards are presented in his name.
The museum is honored to present this year's awards to:
Harold Clark, posthumously, the Boy Scout leader who established a troop at the refugee center and whose strong influence impacted many members of the troop. His two daughters will be accepting the award on his behalf.
Joyce Suslovic, a strong advocate for young male refugees in the Syracuse area.
Additional information concerning the honorees and their influence will be available at the ceremony. There will be a reception immediately following the presentation of awards.
Please RSVP by Thursday June 22 to khill12982@yahoo.com.
