Remember the saying “A picture is worth a thousand words?" What story can you convey in a single still image about this time in your life?
Good or bad, we are in the midst of a historic time. We invite you to help us document and tell the story about how the Coronavirus has impacted the community we live in through photos.
You don’t have to be a photographer to participate or have a fancy camera. Simply capture a photo that evokes an emotion or story you want to tell. We want your photo as part of the collection of images that will help us create a photo essay to be featured on our website! We will also take the best of the images to create a book to document this time in our community and display it at the art center when it opens.
We are accepting photos now through April 10th but late entries will be accepted and posted as they are received through the end of April. Entry is free, please visit our website for details: https://salmonriverfineartscenter.com/_pdf/Photo-Essay-Challenge.pdf
“Since the art center is closed, this is an opportunity for us to connect and document how this worldwide pandemic has impacted our small community and engage a conversation through the art of photography,” says Ann Buchau, Board President. “During the past few weeks we have all faced different obstacles, changes and unique situations in our every day life. We have seen great acts of kindness and hope as well as frustration and fear. Technology is the one thing that is keeping us connected in this time, so why not use it as an art form to help tell our story?”
You can email your digital photos (jpg format 2 mb or smaller) to sr.fine.arts.ctr@gmail.com with “Photo Essay” in the subject line of your email. Please include the following information for each photo. Name, Phone Number, Title and/or Caption, Location of Photo and Date Photo Taken. Entry is free, visit our website for more details. https://salmonriverfineartscenter.com/
