Write a comment“Santa's helpers” lent a hand St. Luke Health Services, making sure there will be plenty of carefully wrapped gifts for every resident under the Christmas tree this year.
A group of dedicated volunteers spent many hours wrapping over eight hundred presents. The gifts will be shared with St. Luke residents at one of the many family Christmas parties taking place during the coming weeks.
"Without the tremendous support of our community volunteers, completing the monumental undertaking of gift wrapping all these presents would be impossible," said Nicole Greenier, St. Luke Volunteer Coordinator. "This is really what the Holiday season is all about – a wonderful group of people who take time out of their own very busy schedules to volunteer to lend a helping hand, making the holiday season a bit more special for others."
As in years past, a majority of the gifts St. Luke residents will receive are courtesy of Exelon employees through the Nine Mile Point employee “Giving Tree” Program; Exelon employees selected resident-specific “wishes” that were hung on trees at various Nine Mile Point facilities, and set about purchasing gifts that were donated to St. Luke and shared with residents.
