Sharon Lee (Holdridge) Greene (79) passed peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, November 11, 2024.

Sharon spent her childhood in Bolivar, NY, graduating from Bolivar Central School in 1963. She treasured her friends from school and the simplicity of growing up in a small town. After high school, Sharon attended the Arnot-Ogden Memorial School of Nursing in Elmira, where she earned her RN. She worked in New York City briefly before moving back to the area she grew up in. From there, she married and became a full-time wife and mother in Oswego for many years. She prided herself on her homemade meals, Christmas baking, beautiful gardens, and supported her family throughout their many activities, including music, sports, school, and more. She was involved in the family business behind the scenes for many years doing bookkeeping, making meatballs, and generally holding down the fort at home. She returned to nursing in her mid-40s and loved her work in the ICU at Oswego Hospital, Wesley Medical Center, home health care, and she finally retired from Southeast Mississippi Psychiatric Hospital where she was beloved by her patients for her direct and honest approach delivered with compassion.

Sharon is survived by her children Sheila (Greene) Gaudet, of Waltham, MA, Bill (Kathy) Greene Jr, of Oswego, NY, and Sean Greene, of Sterling, NY. In her favorite role of Mimi and Grandma, she is survived by her beloved grandchildren including Anthony Cafalone of Tampa FL, Cheryl Gaudet and Andrew Gaudet, both of Hattiesburg MS, Billy Greene III, Erica Greene, Adam Greene; and Jacob Greene, all of Oswego, NY. In addition, she is survived by her brother George (Janet) Holdridge, of Orchard Park, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Greta Holdridge, her sister, Sheila Dalton, and an infant daughter, Heather Lynn Greene.

Calling hours will be Monday, December 30, 2024 from 4-6PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 6PM at Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Morningstar Residential Care Center for their thoughtful care and attention over the past few months.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you recognize her love of dogs, whom she valued above most people, through a donation to Southern Pines Animal Shelter (https://www.southernpinesanimalshelter.org/) in Hattiesburg, MS, from where she adopted her beloved Greta, or the animal shelter of your choice
