Write a commentShirley A. Conley, 86, a resident of Minetto, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at her home.
She was a true warrior who faced every challenge with strength and grace.
Shirley was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Smith) Kiernan. She was also predeceased by her two sisters; Frances Schrader and Elsie Foley.
She was the wife of the love of her life, the late John “Jack” Conley, who died in 2021. She passed just hours short of what would have been their 65th wedding anniversary.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the Credit Bureau of Oswego County. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Oswego.
She is survived by nieces Patricia Auer of Oswego; Linda Rose of Saratoga; Nancy (Jim) Bourdon; Mary Cay (Dennis) Donovan and Kathleen Lavey of Oswego and nephews Charles (Heather) Schrader of Rochester; William (Carol) Foley; Robert (Joanne) Barker and Dante Maniccia of Oswego; and Richard (Tammy) Barker of North Carolina. Shirley is also survived by great and great-great nieces and nephews who brought her such joy.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her care givers; their kindness will never be forgotten.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 Monday, November 20, 2023, in St. Mary of the Assumption Parish and Shrine, 103 West 7th St. in Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
