Shirley Danaher Enwright passed into the next world Friday, July 5, 2013, one day after her 85th birthday, at the Oswego Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on July 4, 1928, the only child of Thomas and Anna Danaher and was a lifelong resident of Oswego.

Following graduation from Oswego High School, she worked at Cyclotherm, the NY Telephone Company and retired from the Oswego Hospital where she worked in the medical records department. In her earlier years, she enjoyed traveling, cooking and baking, knitting and reading a good mystery.   More recently, she treasured time spent with her family and friends, and loved going out to lunch.

She was predeceased by her parents, her step-father, John Cherr; and her husband, of 63 years, Al Enwright.

She is survived by her three daughters, Dr. Colleen (Dr. Michael) O'Leary, of Manlius, Cindy (Dan) Farrell, of Port Jefferson, and Jamie (Joe) Brancato, of Oswego; grandchildren, Ryan Farrell, Nicholas and Kendra Brancato; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family are grateful to Barb VanHorn for the personal care, assistance and companionship she provided over the past year.

Mrs. Enwright requested that there be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, July 8, from St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 103 W. Seventh St., Oswego.

Nelson Funeral Home has care of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to the Salvation Army, St Mary of the Assumption Church or a favorite charity.

Online condolences may be made at www.nelson-funeralhome.com.
