Born in Auburn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary Jane (Barker) Dashnau.
Shirley worked for many years at the Oswego Y.M.C.A. She enjoyed shopping, fishing, playing bingo, and family gatherings.
Surviving are her children Efrain, Jr., Arturo, Salvador, Don, Mirna, Martha, Danny, Nora, Veronica, Pablo, Juan, Victor, and Marisa, her brothers Francis, Alfred, and Ismael and her sisters Mary, Joanne, Juanita, and Iris. She also leaves behind 28 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her lifelong partner Efrain and also her brother Miguel.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4 pm on Tuesday, April 4th, with a service to follow, at Nelson Funeral Home, Oswego.
