Following a decisive win in the Republican Primary for Oswego's 7th Ward City Council seat, Christopher Squitieri issued a heartfelt message of gratitude to the voters and a strong call for unity ahead of the general election in November.
"I want to sincerely thank the residents of the 7th Ward who showed up, stood up, and supported our vision for a better Oswego," Squitieri said. "This win is not just mine, it's a win for the kind of campaign that puts people first, listens to our neighbors, and stays focused on results."
Throughout the primary, Squitieri remained committed to running a clean, positive campaign centered on transparency, public safety, infrastructure, and responsible government. Despite being the target of repeated personal attacks and smear tactics from his opponent's supporters, Squitieri stayed focused on the issues that matter most to the people of Oswego.
"The voters saw through the noise," he continued. "They rejected the personal grudges and political mudslinging. That kind of dirty politics has no place in our city and last night, the voters made that loud and clear."
In the spirit of party unity and moving forward as one Republican team:
"The voters have made their choice, and as a registered Republican, I hope my opponent stands with our party and our community by honoring that decision and helping us move forward united."
Squitieri now turns his attention to the November General Election, where he pledges to earn the support of all 7th Ward residents, Republicans, Conservatives, Independents, and Democrats alike.
"This was the first step. I'm ready to continue building momentum, meeting more residents, and laying out a clear plan to make Oswego stronger," said Squitieri. "I also look forward to supporting our Republican team across the city and helping good candidates win up and down the ballot."
A lifelong public servant with over 35 years of law enforcement experience, Squitieri is committed to bringing honest, level-headed leadership to City Hall that delivers results, not rhetoric.
