Plans are underway for the 14th annual St. Baldrick’s Day in Oswego County – set for Sunday, March 29, 2020 – and the organizing committee is looking for some new faces and ideas to help make this year’s event another success.
“Newcomers are definitely invited,” says committee chair Dan Witmer. “We’re always looking for new people, new ideas, and new connections to the community.”
The only 2019 meeting of the planning committee is set for this Sunday, November 3, at 5 PM in 204 Laker Hall on the SUNY campus. “After this first meeting, we’ll probably meet twice a month in January, February and March, and it’s not essential to be at every meeting.”
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation raises money for life-saving childhood cancer research. Since 2005, the organization has raised more than $279 million to help take childhood back from cancer. In its first 13 years, the annual Oswego events have raised close to $800,000; last year’s Oswego event raised approximately $82,000.
