Oswego Community Christian School students are doing their part to support the school's 8th Annual Auction. Students in each grade have been busy preparing themed baskets that will be up for bid during the auction. Each basket will be filled with an array of goodies that pertain to a unique theme.
Tonia McDonald, planning committee chairperson said the classroom baskets are one of the high points of the auction and generate a tremendous amount of excitement for auction goers.
"The students are enthused about making the baskets and enjoy selecting the items to be included. They are really being creative and having fun putting their baskets together. It's nice to see them put so much thought into it," said McDonald. Themes for the baskets include: Camping, Disney, Birthday, Cooking Out and About in Oswego.
Oswego Christian Community School's 8th Annual Auction will be held Saturday, April 25, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Oswego Elks Lodge #271, corner of West Fifth and Bridge Streets in Oswego. The event, which serves as the school's largest fundraiser, will feature a Silent Auction, and a Live Auction featuring Auctioneer Jim Deacons from Cross Roads Auctions from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.
The themed baskets will be a welcome addition to the extensive list of items that will be up for bid, including; gym memberships, hotel overnight stays, theme & sporting event tickets, tools, restaurant and department store gift cards. McDonald anticipates that there will be approximately $25,000 worth of new merchandise and services to bid on. Bidders may view a sampling of items available on auction day on the school's Facebook page, which is being updated daily as new items arrive.
The Oswego Community Christian School's Annual Auction will also include the school's much anticipated annual Prize Drawing. For a donation of $10 individuals will have the opportunity to win one of three great prizes including: Disney Vacation for Family of 4, iPad Air and $250 Visa Card. A limited number of tickets will available for these prize drawings. McDonald said that tickets for the Prizing Drawing as well as pre-sale tickets for the Chicken B-B-Q ($11) are available at the school office, 400 East Albany Street in Oswego.
All proceeds from this event will be used for the continued improvement of the quality of education offered to the students at OCCS.
