How long have you lived in Oswego?
JL: I have lived in Oswego all of my life! My parents live here, and my ties to the community are strong, so I’m not ready to leave just yet. I do have one brother who lives in Oklahoma, and two brothers in Wake Forest, so someday I might just head that way!
Has photography always been an interest?
JL: I love photography, and the fact that photos capture the memories and important events of a person’s life. It is a moment in time they can have forever. Photography is also a great opportunity to meet new people along the way, and most appreciate what you do for them.
When you aren’t busy taking pictures, what can you be found doing?
JL: Truth be told, even when I am not working, I am working! I currently work three jobs and am taking online classes. Additionally, I am involved in many community events, am an Administrator and run a free raffle on Facebook for the “Help One Another” group, have two crazy cats and a house to keep up. I consider myself a go-getter and get things done that need to be...I just don’t quit when I am tired!
What photo are you the proudest of/was the most fun to capture?
JL: I honestly have to say I love all of the kids’ events I put on for the City of Oswego. When I look back at the many holiday events; Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas, Valentine and summer events, and I see the kids and their families enjoying themselves it makes me happy to know I can make a difference. It really is the best feeling!
What was the best community experience you’ve had while working for iHeartOswego?
JL: The best community experience while working for iheartOswego has been meeting so many people over the years and working with the amazing people on the iHeart team.
