Write a commentTammy Jo Jorgensen, 56, of Oswego NY, passed away after a long illness on Friday, November 10, 2023, in Oswego, NY.
A memorial service to celebrate Tammy’s life will be held at Travis Floral & Glass House on Saturday, November 25th at 2pm.
Tammy was born in Carthage, NY, and grew up in Hannibal with her 8 siblings and parents. She moved to Florida in her high school years and graduated from Deland High School. Tammy was a “go-getter” and moved to Colorado and Virginia, before settling back to Oswego, NY to raise a family. She also travelled a lot with her husband, Ole, and liked to experience the world.
Tammy held many administrative jobs over the years, working in medical offices, the Department of Social Services and the Oswego County Treasurer’s Office. She was also well known for working at the Oswego Sub Shop, always positive and welcoming and fun.
Described as “finding music and friends everywhere,” Tammy was a band member of Halfway to Nowhere, and she could be found doing jam sessions at the Hibernians. She was in a bowling league, liked going to BINGO with her sisters, and could be found organizing potlucks and get-togethers.
Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Ole Jorgensen; children, Stefanie Burgess, Jessica (Xavier) Burgess, Cody Stewart and Abigail Stewart, and several grandchildren; and several siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews, all whom she loved very much. Tammy is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Arlene (Carey) Bergman, brothers, and sisters.
The family expresses gratitude to Tammy’s friends and family for their support during this difficult time.
