The Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) Local 068 and the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) Local 1570A , the unions which represent workers at the Port of Oswego, unequivocally stand with Executive Director/CEO William Scriber and the efforts the Port continues to make to expand and bolster operations.

The Port, a stalwart of the area's economic success, is committed to working cooperatively and constructively with the city to ensure that any concerns are addressed. Minor modifications for the greater good of the Port City should be met with excitement rather than constant objection. The Port exists to benefit the Oswego area and Upstate New York. Hindering its ability to operate to the fullest extent puts the Port at a disadvantage in the market and stalls potential economic growth opportunities for the community. We urge the city to reconsider its denial of E. First Street modifications and move forward as a partner with the Port in future endeavors.
