Thomas F. Ketcham, 79, passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Fulton, NY, he was the son of the late Jack and Marian (Turner) Ketcham.
Thomas was a US Coast Guard veteran. He worked at Hammermill and International Paper for 33 years, then for 23 years for Smurfit Westrock, in Solvay.
Tom was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Green Bay Packers, Syracuse Orange, LA Dodgers, and the Buffalo Sabres. During the summer months, he enjoyed working out in the yard and gardening. He also enjoyed travelling and going to the casino with his wife, Linda.
Tom is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda; his children, Deborah (Robert) Gates, Thomas (Kim) Ketcham, Jr., and Wayne (Jen) Ketcham; his stepchildren, Lisa Moshier, Mark (Ana) Moshier, and Michael (Katherine) Moshier; his grandchildren Ryan Gates, Matthew Ketcham, James York, Matthew (Mariah) Moshier, Madison Moshier, Alexis McRae, and William Moshier; three great-grandchildren; nieces; and a nephew.
Besides his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Bodewaldt; brother-in-law Jack Bodewaldt; and a grandson, Jared Gates.
The family would like to thank Terri Tuso for her kind, compassionate, loving care during Tom’s final days.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be no services.
Donations in his memory can be made to the H. Lee White Maritime Museum in Oswego, or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Arrangements are in the care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
