Thomas M. Turner, 76, a resident of 150 E. First St., passed away March 15, 2013, at his home.
Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late George and Jane (Fitzgerald) Turner.
He attended St. Paul's School and the Oswego High School.
He was employed by the General Electric Computer Department, in Syracuse, General Dynamics, in Rochester and Honeywell International of Syracuse N.Y. His employment took him and his family to Samsun, Turkey and Hof Salle, Germany before settling in Liverpool (Bayberry) for 30 years.
Mr.Turner was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1955-1959.
Tom loved everything Irish. He loved the people, the music and the beauty of the country. He was a true Patriarch of our heritage.
He was 53 year member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians. A scholarship has been instituted in Tom's name for the St. Patrick Project to support the education of priests.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Kathleen Kelly, of Oswego; three children, Michael (Donna) Turner, of Durham, N.C., Sally Turner, of Syracuse, and Kelly Turner, of Syracuse; seven grandchildren, Timothy Seib, Sarah Seib, Erin Turner, Matthew Turner,Victoria Turner, Elizabeth Turner and Ian Turner; two brothers, James (Kathleen) Turner, of Orchard Park and, George "Bud" (Judy) Turner, of Exton Pa.; three sisters, Jane (Vic) Sozzi, of Phoenix, Ellen (Murray) Gould, of Syracuse, and Margaret (Michael) Fitzsimons, of Janesville Wisc.; and several loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial services celebrating Tom's life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 14, from the Dowdle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael J. Carmola officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home, 154 E. Fourth St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery immediately following the service.

The family invites any family or friends to join together at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life at the Oswego High School on the evening of Friday, June 14, after the service. We will be honoring Tom with a show of support at the event.
