Thomas Thompson Sr, 90, of Oswego Town, passed away peacefully at home, on April 3, 2025, with his loving family at his side.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late George and Ellen (LeFlemme) Thompson.
Thomas served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked and retired from Alcan after many years as a Scale Clerk.
Thomas was an outdoorsman who loved nature and could often be found working in his yard. His family was everything to him; he especially loved his grandchildren and playing cards.
Thomas is survived by his daughters Susan Thompson and Karen (Emery) Fenske, sons Thomas Thompson Jr., William (Tammie) Thompson, and Scott Thompson, grandchildren Casey Thompson, Thomas Thompson III, Eric Thompson, Danny Thompson, Kate Abbott, Abby Thompson, Christina Thompson, Hunter Thompson, and Matthew Thompson, 11 great-grandchildren, including Riley Visconti, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his loving wife Josephine in 2012, granddaughter Heather Kanaley, 12 brothers, and a sister.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 4-6 pm with a service to follow, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
