Timothy Stahl, (R), 16 Brown Dr., has announced his candidacy for the 20th District of the Oswego County's Legislature. This is Stahl's first time as a candidate and he will be seeking the Republican and Conservative nominations.
A 20-year resident of the Town of Oswego, Stahl is currently employed as the Business Development Manager for R.M. Burritt Motors in Oswego. Previously he worked for 7 years at an employee benefits consulting firm. "As a parent raising three children in this community, I am deeply committed to being a fresh voice in county government," Stahl said.
A graduate of both Oswego High School (2000) and SUNY Oswego (2004), with a B.S. degree in Applied Mathematical Economics, Stahl has seen firsthand the flood of local graduates leave the county and state for jobs.
"My business experience gives me a very unique perspective on the challenges facing the residents of our county," Stahl said. "The job opportunities that existed when I was young just don't exist any more. I want to leave my children a county better than the one I inherited — one with lower taxes, better services, and more opportunities," Stahl said.
Stahl says he expects to have opponents in the race, and welcomes the challenge. "I'm excited about the competition. I look forward to showcasing the integrity and hard work that have helped to make this community great."
Stahl resides in Southwest Oswego with his wife, Rachael, and their 3 children.
