Members of the United Way of Greater Oswego County'’s campaign cabinet are busy putting the final touches on the agenda for one of Oswego County’'s most impactful events: the United Way'’s Annual Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast.

Scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 10, the event will be held from 8:00 a.m. to– 9:00 a.m. at the American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. in Oswego. The cost to attend the United Way Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast is $15.00.

Melanie Trexler, executive director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County, said that the United Way'’s campaign cabinet, under the direction of Chairman Rob Rolfe of Harmony Financial Services, has been working diligently to ensure that the United Way’'s Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast is an enlightening and inspiring event that will provide community members with a better understanding of the positive impact the United Way has on Oswego County and the results that its programs have on those that access them.

“     "Our campaign cabinet is looking forward to this year'’s campaign and are 100 percent committed to achieving our goals," Trexler said. "They will be sharing their enthusiasm for United Way at our Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast by championing the positive impact of United Way funded programs and the measurable results these programs have on the three of the most important aspects of a strong community: ending hunger, helping children and youth succeed, and health and well-being."

The results of United Way-funded programs and their true impact on the community will come to life through guests Jeanne Unger, executive director of Farnham Family Services who will speak of the success stories made possible through the agency'’s programs and Michael Curtis, criminal investigator with the Fulton City Police Department who will share his experiences with Catholic Charities’ CYO Program and the positive impact it’s had on his life.

"“We invite you to hear for yourself these personal accounts of how United Way-funded programs make a real difference," Trexler said. "Supporting the United Way Annual Campaign is a way for our community to come together as a whole to create a stronger, healthier environment for Oswego County.  There is no greater way to positively impact the quality of life in our communities than donating to the United Way Annual Campaign."
