Write a commentProud veterans gathered to reminisce, share their experiences and honor their fellow veterans as Morningstar Residential Care Center in Oswego hosted a Veterans' Day Luncheon to recognize its residents that bravely served their country in the United States Armed Forces.
Residents were treated to a special luncheon featuring prime rib with all the fixings, shrimp cocktail, and homemade chocolate cake. The event was one of several themed luncheons that Morningstar offers its residents throughout the year.
"Our staff and our residents are happy to recognize our veterans on Veterans' Day and everyday and thank them for their selfless service to our country," said Director of Activities Kelsey Rose. "Our luncheon was the highlight of the activities that we held in honor of our veterans."
In addition to the luncheon each veteran residing at Morningstar received a commemorative embroidered fleece blanket. "It was a great day and they truly appreciated the fact that we recognized each of them both collectively and individually," added Rose.
