W. Mack Richardson, September 8, 1949-May 15, 2025 passed away at the Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.

Born in Nashville, TN, he grew up in Bristol, TN and was a current resident of Baldwinsville, NY.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Christine Wheeler Richardson, and son Andrew C Richardson. Also surviving are his brother R Wayne Richardson (Janessa), sister-in-law Marsha Wheeler Marcarian (Vigen), nephews Eric Unger (Stephanie), Alex Unger (Danielle), Matthew Richardson (Kathleen), and Ryan Richardson (Sarah).

Mack was an accomplished and life-long musician. He received graduate degrees in orchestral conducting and music theory from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (CCM). He was the Conductor and Music Director of the Lexington Youth Symphony Orchestra, Assistant Conductor of the CCM Youth Orchestra, the Conductor and Music Director of the Oswego Opera Company, and Conductor of the Seven Hills Sinfonia (OH). Additionally, Mack's highly valued administrative skills led to successful tenures as Executive Director of several Symphony Orchestra organizations including the Cape Cod Symphony, the South Bend Symphony, the South Dakota Symphony, and the BC Pops Orchestra. Mack was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Syracuse where much of his social and advocacy life were focused, and he was involved in several church boards. Most memorably, Mack was a kind and generous soul. He believed in the best of everyone. He was highly intelligent and thoughtful with a well-developed sense of humor.

Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Upstate and the many Plymouth people who visited and supported Mack and his family during his illness and death. His passing leaves a hole in all our lives and we will miss him greatly. Thank you Mack for your life well-lived.
