The search for two white companion ducks continues as the pair dubbed “Bonnie and Clyde” were spotted at West Second Street, between Seneca Street and Schuyler Street.
The pair infamously highjacked an ice cream truck in May, depriving the community from delicious frozen treats.
“I stepped out of the truck to tie my shoe,” Pat Johnson, owner of Pat’s Treats, said. “I then noticed my truck drive away. Two white ducks were in the front seat.
They quacked at me, as if they were laughing at me.”
Johnson’s truck was later recovered that same day near Fort Ontario. However, no treats, or sitting ducks, were to be found.
“They stole my treats,” Johnson said. “I really wanted a Fudge Bar, but they ate ‘em all.”
“Bonnie and Clyde” soon waddled their way through Breitbeck Park with chocolate covered beaks, claiming their territory under the swings, depriving children from enjoying the park.
The pair have been spotted around town before, often waddling onto the busses, riding on nothing but freedom under their wings.
“People have tried to capture Bonnie and Clyde in the back of my bus,” local bus driver Sam James said. “But these ducks are too quick for ‘em.”
The pair are still on the run, or in this case, on the waddle. If Bonnie and Clyde are spotted, please contact the public duck capture service Duck Criminals of America at 315-555-DUCK.
