You shouldn’t rely on luck to find delicious St. Patrick’s Day dishes, so here’s our round-up of the most notable spots for Irish fare in the county.

Oswego

GS Steamers started their St. Patrick’s Day menu Friday, March 8, so patrons can get their fill of seasonal favorites like hot or cold corned beef sandwiches ($15.95), Reubens ($15.95), and Traditional Irish Boil ($18.95). The grill is also offering several unique dishes like Irish nachos for $13.95 and Irish Egg Rolls for $12.95.

The Woodchuck Saloon prepares its corned beef on fresh deli style bread with choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo for $12. We also suggest giving the Woodchuck Reuben ($14) a try.

For more traditional Irish fare, stop into the Ancient Order of the Hibernians on Munn Street. They’ll be holding a dine in / takeout event on St. Patrick’s Day (Sunday, March 17) from 11am until gone. Ham or corned beef sandwiches with a side of pickles and chips are $13, and corned beef and cabbage dinners are $15.

For more off-beat St. Patty’s Day fare, Dahl’s is also offering Reuben omelets with home fries and toast for $11.25, and Reuben burgers served with chips for $11.25. Plus, you can stop in on Fridays for a delicious fish fry.

North Country

Huckleberry Café in Lacona is holding an anniversary celebration on St. Patrick’s Day, with corned beef and cabbage dinners available from 11:30am to 8pm. Dinners are $14.99 for eat-in or takeout, and they come with a dinner roll and butter or a corn muffin. The chef-made Boston Cream pie is also just $2.50 a slice, so make sure to grab dessert too!

Speaking of desserts, LD’s on the River in Pulaski has Irish Cream cheesecake available throughout the month of March. This specialty cheesecake is flavored with Irish cream in a chocolate cookie crust and is topped with creamy, Irish cream-infused chocolate mousse and a dusting of cocoa. The pub also has several Irish drinks on tap, including an Irish Mule featuring Jameson and Saranac ginger beer with a twist of lime.

The Grilled Reuben Sandwich, served with Lock 1 seasoned fries, comes in at $17. Shepherd’s Pie topped with buttery mashed potatoes is available for $18. The distillery is also baking up Reuben Pizzas: topped with garlic butter, mozzarella, corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and a post-bake Thousand Islands drizzle, this is certainly one of the most unique items we have seen throughout the county, coming in at $18. On Sunday, Lock 1 will also be offering corned beef hash topped with two sunny side up eggs.

The First Baptist Church of Central Square is offering home-cooked corned beef and cabbage from noon until gone on St. Patrick’s Day. Patrons can eat in or take their dinners to go, with meals priced at $14.
