William A. Foley, 92, of Oswego passed on June 4th, 2020.
Born and raised in Oswego, he was the son of the late William George and Doris (Moys) Foley.
William was a graduate of Oswego High School. He was a Navy Veteran who served in the Pacific during WWII then during the 1960s and 1970s was in the Seabree reserves.
William was self-employed and owned and operated Foley’s Auto Service for 20 years. He also worked as a school crossing guard for 17 years.
William enjoyed reading, computers, and woodworking. He had a great personality and sense of humor. He was know for telling jokes and making people laugh. He will be missed by many.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gloria Foley; his children William (Carol) Foley of Oswego and Erin (Steven) Price of Oswego; grandchildren Michael (Chelsea) Foley of North Syracuse, Andrea (James) Foley Braski of Phillipsburg NJ, and Laura Ruggio of Oswego; 7 great grandchildren Colin and Claire Foley, Misha and Nadia Braski, and Molli Grace, Charlianna, and Aubrey Ruggio; his cousin Leo (Doris) Porter of Oswego and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Fred Foley and Rev. Jack Foley, his daughter, Sonja Marie Foley, and his first wife Elsie Kiernan.
A private graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery on Wednesday. William’s arrangements are in the care of Nelson Funeral Home.
