William J. Runeari, 61, of 1 Jonquil Trail, Oswego, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013.
Bill was born in Fulton and has been a resident of Oswego for most of his life.
Bill was an English teacher at Oswego High School, where he also served as the junior and senior class advisor for more than 25 years. He devoted his entire professional career to teaching.
Bill enjoyed playing golf, softball and was an avid Yankees fan, but was probably best known by all for his incredible sense of humor and sarcasm.
Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia "Sis" Wilber Runeari; daughters Kate (Ryan) Drajewicz, of North Haven, Conn., and Meg (Emily Bishop) Runeari, of New York, NY; his parents, Joseph and Mary (St. Phillips) Runeari, of Fulton; and his sister, Joanne Ciciriello of Mexico. He is loved by his sisters and brothers-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21, at St. Paul's Church, in Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, at Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
