Twelve local business owners through DOERS a local entrepreneurial organization in Oswego, created their own interpretations of Christmas wreaths for a raffle in support of Friends of Hospice and Oswego Bookmobile. For several weeks, each business sold raffle tickets for their individual wreaths.

At 9:00pm during Late Night Shopping on December 11th, each business chose a winner of the wreath they had made, from their entries. All wreath ticket money was pooled, counted and then divided between Friends of Hospice and the Oswego Bookmobile.

"This wreath raffle is something we have done for many years now," said Linda DeMassi from Port City Co-Op, an antique, art and flea market shop on West 2nd St, across from the movie theater. "Raising money for our local charities is simply the right thing to do. Every little bit helps."

FriendsOfHospice WreatheRaffleThat was a statement that Susan McBrearty, Oswego Bookmobile Program Co-Coordinator, agrees with. "We were excited to be chosen to receive the funds raised, we really appreciate what people do in order to help the Oswego Bookmobile" said McBrearty.

Each organization received a $550 donation for a total of $1100, raised. The fundraisers were: Port City Co-op, iHeartOswego.com, Taste The World, Sensibility Outfitters, Maida's Floral Shop, Harbor Towne Gifts, Man In The Moon Candies, The Darling Elves Floral & Gift Shop, Lakeside Artisans, A Touch of Grace, Polka Dot Monkey and Mary Jean's Sew What!
