Zonta Club of Oswego is brewing up some scary fun with its Inaugural “Witches Ball.” To be held October 27 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the American Foundry in Oswego the “Witches Ball” offers an evening of Halloween fun for great cause.
In recognition of October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month the Zonta Club of Oswego “Witches Ball” serves as a fundraiser for Oswego County Opportunities’ Services to Aid Families program (SAF), the domestic violence and rape crisis program for Oswego County.
“The work that SAF does is a perfect match for our vision of a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and that every woman is able to achieve her full potential. In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence,” said Zonta Board Member Tammy Elowsky. “We have supported SAF in many ways over the years and are especially excited about our ‘Inaugural Witches Ball.’”
Open to those 18 and older (age 16 and 17 with parent) the Zonta Club of Oswego’s “Witches Ball” is a Halloween Party featuring dancing to the sounds of Mystic Music Entertainment, Costume contests, Tarot Card readings, Fortune Telling, Witchy demonstrations, Caricature and Make-up Artists, and much more.
OCO’s SAF program served 550 victims and survivors in 2016; including a growing number of elderly and many individuals with disabilities. SAF continues to provide support and advocacy for victims and survivors of domestic violence in Oswego County.
“We’re thrilled that the Zonta Club of Oswego has organized the ‘Witches Ball’ to not only raise funds for SAF, but to raise awareness of domestic violence in Oswego County, said SAF Community Response Coordinator Stacie France. “I invite community members to join us for an evening of Halloween fun.”
