The SUNYAC announces its 2025 men's soccer All-Conference teams and individual awards including the Huntley Parker Offensive Player of the Year, Fred Holloway Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year as voted on by the conference coaches.
Huntley Parker Offensive Player of the Year - Diego Rivera, Buffalo State
Rivera, a senior forward, repeats as the SUNYAC Huntley Parker Offensive Player of the Year after leading the league in points and goals in 2025. He had 29 points with 13 goals in regular season conference play. Rivera also led the conference overall with 60 points and 26 goals. He had a season high five goals on September 27 against Potsdam. Rivera helped his team clinch the No. 2 seed going into post season conference play and was named to the All-Tournament team after the Bengals advanced to the championship match. The team fell short to No. 5 Oneonta, 2-1, ending its season 13-2-5 overall.
Huntley Parker was a highly successful men's soccer coach at Brockport for 14 years, winning the SUNYAC Conference twice in 1961 and 1968, while sharing the title 1970. In 1970, Parker led Brockport to the NCAA Regional Conference Champions. Parker was inducted into the Brockport Hall of Fame in 1985, while the field at Brockport was named in his honor. Parker passed away in 2003.
Fred Holloway Defensive Player of the Year - Jordan Ott, CortlandOtt, a senior goalkeeper, led the SUNYAC with a .947 save percentage in regular season conference play. Overall he totaled 73 save and allowed just eight goals for a 0.44 goals-against average in 2025. He had a season high of 10 saves against Plattsburgh on October 4. Ott was named the SUNYAC Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week three times this season. He helped his team clinch the No. 1 seed going into post season play with a 7-0-2 record. Ott ended his senior campaign 12-1-5 overall in goal.
T. Fred "Prof" Holloway coached men's soccer at Cortland from 1936-72, guiding his program to a 191-94-23 record. His Red Dragons suffered just two losing seasons in 35 years, while his teams appeared in three NCAA tournaments and captured six SUNYAC Championships. Prof chaired the founding committee of the National Soccer Coaches Association, designed a statistical system for the selection of All America Collegiate Soccer players, and in 1958 was selected by the members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America to receive their most coveted recognition, the Annual Honor Award. In 1987, Cortland dedicated its soccer field in his honor. Holloway passed away in 1990.
Rookie of the Year - Lesedi Sekhobo, Buffalo StateIn his rookie season, Sekhobo helped the Bengals finish second after regular season conference play and the team finished as the runner up in the league championship. In 2025, he played in all 20 games with 14 starts contributing six points in conference play and 12 points overall. The team was No. 2 going into postseason play and advanced to the championship match ending their season with a record of 13-2-5 overall.
Coaching Staff of the Year - Oneonta
Head Coach Iain Bryrn and his assistants Ian Zingaro, Tim Sagasti, and Chris Saggese led their team to the programs 13th overall SUNYAC men's soccer championship crown and first since 2022. The team won its way through the bracket as the No. 5 seed. They topped No. 4 New Paltz, 3-0 in the first round. Then went on to upset No. 1 Cortland in penalty kicks. The Oneonta Red Dragons defeated No. 2 Buffalo State in the championship match, 2-1. The staff coached seven All-SUNYAC selections this season. The squad will advance to the NCAA Division III tournament, the program's 16th appearance, and face Babson College in the first round, November 15 at 1:30 p.m. The team enters NCAA play 12-4-2 overall.
