"Bishop's Commons in Oswego is pleased to be able to welcome the public to a special holiday event – legendary performer and radio personality Phil Markert will perform in the Grand Dining Room on Tuesday evening December 9th, beginning at 6:00pm. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Delicious holiday-inspired desserts will be served along with hot beverages.
Phil Markert has enjoyed entertaining audiences of all ages for more than 40 years through Radio, TV, Stage and Screen, and thousands of live appearances. Phil has recently retired from a 10-year run on WTAL radio, where he entertained generations of fans with live in-studio piano, colorful yarns and stories, call-ins from the listeners, and both rare and memorable songs from today and yesterday.
Phil now enjoys occasional film and TV appearances, live theater, and his one of a kind "Let Me Entertain You" Show which provides stories, comedy, and of course live piano music and sing-along songs for his audiences.
Markert will be performing many of the holiday songs we have come to know and love. "Watching Phil perform or joining him in a sing-along can make even the grouchiest Scrooges smile and enjoy themselves," said Cheryl Cullinan, Activities Director at Bishop's Commons. "This a great way to put aside all the stresses that come with the holiday season, sit back, enjoy some wonderful music and a few laughs and sample some tasty desserts made especially by our own Dining staff."
Tours of the Enriched Living Residence will be available at the conclusion of the performance.
Bishop's Commons is located at 4 Burkle Street. Those seeking more information about this special holiday event can contact Bishop's Commons at (315) 349-0799. On the web at www.bcommons.com"
