A new group for friends and family of addicts was recently formed, following a heroin summit hosted by Congressman Katko in Oswego.
This new group will bring together parents, relatives and friends of addicts, who are all under a great deal of stress, searching for ways to help their loved one. Information sharing as well as guest speakers are planned for the upcoming months.
The group will meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at 283 West Second Street, Suite 100, Oswego, NY. This facility is the Prevention Offices of Farnham Family Services. All community members are welcome to attend one or more of these meetings, no reservations are required, light refreshments will be available.
At the meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th , the guest speaker planned is a member of the Oswego County Drug Task Force. This law enforcement professional will be available to help answer your questions and provide information. The group is open to suggestions for topics, speakers, trainings, etc.
This group will bring the message of hope to those in attendance, sharing stories, services and resources to help the community with the health crisis of addiction.
