CNY Arts is excited to expand into a new art form! Beginning this month, ballroom classes will be offered in 4-week sessions covering dance styles including waltz, foxtrot, east coast swing, and salsa. The first session will begin this Saturday, January 9 from 7-8:30 pm. There is a fee for the 4-week session per person or per couple. Singles are encouraged to participate.
Instructor Amy C. Price is returning to CNY Arts to share her passion for movement and enthusiasm for the arts. She comes to CNY Arts Center with 12 years of teaching experience in dance. She trained at Fred Astaire Ballroom Studios in Atlanta, Georgia as well as studied dance education at The University of Georgia. Her early training included 3 private studios in the metro- Atlanta area and studying under Ballet Magnificat. Her repertoire includes training, performing and teaching in ballet, tap, jazz, modern and ballroom dance. She danced in two semi-professional companies in Atlanta and has taught in three states as well as running a multi-arts center in Atlanta. Amy is thrilled to bring ballroom dancing to CNY and to share her love of dance with CNY Arts Center.
Amy wears many hats and serves on the Arts Center board of directors, is chairman of the Theatre Committee and a frequent stage director. Her next production is Midsummer Night’s Dream slated for May, 2016.
