Be Part of a Performance Inspired by Art! Now Casting

Write a comment

Performing Art is an imaginative, collaborative performance project led by Liz Dahmen.

Together, a team of local artists, students, and community members will create a brand-new performance inspired directly by the artwork in the Tyler Art Gallery at SUNY Oswego. While in residence, our ensemble will craft a live, devised theater piece in response to the exhibition She Is On Her Way.

Through guided exploration, participants will use their own lived experiences to create original stories, songs, movement, and moments of theatrical magic to share with an audience.

Who can participate?

Anyone curious about blending visual art with performance is invited to join us. Community members as well as Oswego students, faculty, and staff are welcome.  Whether you're an actor, musician, dancer, composer, singer, poet, writer—or someone simply eager to try something new—you'll collaborate with others under Liz Dahmen's direction to build a short performance presented on Friday, February 20, and Saturday, February 21 in the Tyler Gallery.

What is required?

We ask for full participation in all workshop-rehearsals and in the final performances. No previous performance experience is necessary—just an open mind, a spirit of play, and a willingness to create together.
