Beatrice A. Costello, 76, a resident of East Twelfth Street passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at her home.
Born in Oswego, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Beatrice (Burns) Van Buren and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.
She was the assistant manager of S and H Green Stamp and was also employed with Green's.
For many years, she worked the voting polls at the Crisafulli Rink and has hosted political parties.
Beatrice was a trustee for the Fairview Cemetery in Bundyville and was an avid Bunco player.
She was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church, where she was a member of the church choir, church treasurer and was also a member of the Ladies Bright and Cheerful Club.
Surviving are husband of 57 years, Leonard Costello, a daughter, Linda Lee Costello, a son, Leonard "Brud" (Janice) Costello Jr. and one grandson, Gregory Costello, all of Oswego; and two cousins, Rev. Ruth Wendt and Sandie Bigness, both of Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home, 154. E Fourth St., Oswego.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
