Who wants their feathered friends to live in plain old wooden birdhouses? Not Bonnie Sommers of the Lakeside Artisans Cooperative in downtown Oswego!
On Thursday, June 16 from 5 to 7 PM during the Farmers Market, Bonnie will demonstrate how to decorate a birdhouse so that you will be proud of it and the birds will love to live there.
Visitors to the Oswego Farmers Market on Thursday evenings are encouraged to stop into the Lakeside Artisans shop, take a look at the demonstrations, and see the shop’s selection of fine art and handcrafted gifts.
Bonnie is a Fulton resident and member of the Lakeside Artisans. Her paintings of birds and other wildlife are exquisitely detailed and lifelike. Her framed artwork and unique handmade jewelry are available at the shop in the Canal Commons at 191 West 1st St. in Oswego.
Other demonstrations scheduled for June 2016 are:
June 23 – Wood carver Carl Patrick will be starting to work on this year’s offering of Christmas tree ornaments. His hand-carved wooden ornaments are available on the Lakeside artisan’s tree during the holiday season.
June 30 – Glass artist Diane Chepko-Sade will be cutting and shaping pieces for her popular fused glass kayak ornaments. The pieces will later be fused in a kiln to form a colorful glass works of art.
