
Carolyn L. Barker, 73 a long time resident of County Route 7 in Oswego Center passed away Wednesday morning surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter.
She was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late George and Hazel Dunn McDowell. Carolyn had retired from Oswego County Office of the Aging. She was previously employed at Canales Restaurant and the Oswego Country Club. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Carolyn had been a Girl Scout Leader. She attended SUNY Oswego and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oswego. Carolyn enjoyed arts, crafts, crocheting and quilting.
Mrs. Barker is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Barker Toy, Marilyn (Kenneth) Buske both of Oswego, Laurrie (Ricky) Hillegeer of Tennessee, seven grandchildren Stephanie Stevens, Bryan Stevens, Edward H. Scruton, Kenneth J. Buske, Joseph Buske, Charles E. Hall, III, Amanda Hall, ten great grandchildren, five nieces Lorraine Williams, Marsha Byron, Cherrill Pilone, Carol Nagy, Deborah Rowley and one nephew, David McDowell.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by one son William James Barker, Jr., one sister H. Emily Williams, one brother George McDowell and a granddaughter Holly Jo Hall.
Calling hours will be Monday 5-7PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Private services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
