That blockbuster Broadway musical of 1956 is now fully cast and rehearsals have begun on the Oswego Players Frances Marion Brown stage for "Mame."
The show is being staged by director, Inez Manor Parker, with musical direction by the most "able," Abel Searor.
Actors filling out the rest of the cast are Ed Schladebeck as Dwight Babcock; Peter Mahan as Beau; Christopher Metz as Lindsay; and Joseph Becker will play the 10-year-old Patrick.
Schladebeck is a welcome addition as he has been absent from the Players stage for a few years," Parker said. "It will be good to have him back."
Mame is the perfect musical to highlight the Oswego Players 75th continuously operating season. The setting is New York spanning the Great Depression and World War II, the latter being the formative years of the Oswego Players organization. Parker is well-known for her musical extravaganzas and Mame will be no exception. Mark your calendars for this one!
The show is scheduled for production at 8 p.m., July 5, 6, 7, 12 and 13; and a 2 p.m. matinee, July 14. Ticket price is $15.00 – a bargain with the cost of entertainment these days. Pathfinder Bank has generously provided support toward this production.
