Catherine L. Durval, 89, a former resident of 194 East Second Street in Oswego, passed away Sunday, at the Andrew Michaud Nursing Home in Fulton.
Mrs. Durval was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah (Dimento) Favata. She was a life resident of the area.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed, for 30 years, as a crossing guard with the Oswego City School District
She was the wife of the late Charles A. Durval, who died in 1993.
Mrs. Durval was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Oswego.
She is survived by two sons, Charles (Debra) Durval of Oswego, and Joseph Durval of Fulton; a brother, Angelo “Jitters” Favata of Oswego; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Sara Nelson, and Cheryl Durval; a son, Sam Durval; two brothers, Anthony Favata, and Dominick Favata; and two sisters, Rose Laquidari, and Frances DeMore.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Thursday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 Wednesday, at the funeral home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
