Write a commentCecelia was born December 9, 1955. She was born and raised in Oswego, New York until moving to Tracy, California in 2004.
She lost her battle against lung cancer on June 29, 2025. She was at home and passed peacefully.
Cecelia was known to friends and family as Sis or Sissy. She attended Oswego High school, and previously worked at Oswego Price Chopper in the bakery. She enjoyed doing crafts, baking, canning, going to bingo, working in the garden on her flowers, watching the hummingbirds, and spending time with friends and family.
She was predeceased by her parents Robert Lee DeGroff and Catherine Phoebe DeGroff of Oswego NY, her sisters Florence Degroff Smith of Oswego NY, and Katherine DeGroff Burg of Oswego NY. She is survived by her children Cherie (Mark) Barker of Oswego Ny, and James Harrington of Oswego NY, her 7 grandchildren, her sister Roberta "Bobbie" (Tim) Arnold of Texas, her brothers Wayne (Doreen) DeGroff of Tennessee, Robert "Skip" (Glenda) Degroff of Hannibal NY, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no services as she is being cremated.
