Write a commentCharlotte Ann Ponzi, a resident of Oswego, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026.
She was born in Oswego on October 17, 1939 and was the daughter of the late John and Waneta (Rivers) Florence. She graduated from St.Paul's School and the Oswego Catholic High School, Class of 1957.
Charlotte was known to family and friends as "Chotty".
Chotty was a devoted Catholic and dedicated her time to the church and several charities. In addition to her devotion to the Church and her family, Chotty spent time playing mahjong, attending group classes at the Oswego YMCA,cross country skiing, singing in the Church Choir and her daily walks.
Charlotte leaves behind her six children, Cynthia (Daniel) Moulthrop,Christopher Ponzi, Vincent Ponzi, Francine( Michael) Sanford, John (Patti) Ponzi and Michelle (James) Roddy.
In addition to six children, Charlotte had four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her grandchildren were Nicole Harriott, Madeleine Moulthrop, Anna Moulthrop and Isabella Ponzi and two great grandchildren, Dean and Anne Harriott.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis "Lala" Ponzi in 2006, sister, Barbara Florence and her brother, William Florence and sister-in-law Judy Florence
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 from Christ the Good Shepherd.
Entombment will be in All Saint's Mausoleum.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:00-6:00
