In collaboration with the new ownership of Thunder Island, CNY Arts Center is excited to announce an expansion into dinner theatre pairing dinner and a show at the Oasis Room at Thunder Island, 21 Wilcox Rd. just south of Fulton off Rte. 48.
On December 15, 16 & 17 the Arts Center will present A Tribute to Walt: a Culinary Cabaret, under the direction of Adam Schmidtmann, Gina Holsopple as Music Director and Jessie Dobrzynski as choreographer. The December 16th performance will also offer late night comedy with Top Hat Solutions.
The holiday musical tribute to Walt Disney will entertain audiences with popular songs from his musical kingdom. With a mix of adult and youth in the cast, songs from both Broadway and movies will entertain audiences including songs from Mulan, The Lion King and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The director promises a lot of dancing, such as a “Positoovity” tap number from The Little Mermaid and more group numbers, solos, duets, and even trios.
“It’s a great way to slow the hectic pace of the holidays and enjoy a little toe-tapping fun,” said director Adam Schmidtmann. “And we couldn’t be more excited to pair it with dinner at the Oasis. We truly hope the community will embrace and support this new venture so we can plan for more “Dinner and a Show” weekends at the Oasis in 2018.”
Audience members will enjoy a full meal before the show provided by the Oasis. Performances run Friday, December 15 and Saturday December 16 with dinner at 6pm and show at 7pm. Sunday’s performance, December 17 will serve lunch at 2pm with show following at 3pm.
Saturday’s performance will be followed by late night entertainment from Top Hat Solutions Comedy Troupe. Cabaret audiences will receive half price tickets for the improv company that has been entertaining audiences and developing repertoire at the CNY Arts Center HotSpot. Under the direction of Jess Tetro, the company will return in 2018 with quarterly comedy nights at the downtown location.
Show only tickets for A Tribute to Walt: A Culinary Cabaret will be available at the door but dinner reservations must be made in advance. For ticket information and more details, visit www.CNYArtsCenter.com or call 315-598-ARTS (2787).
