Colin R. Darling, 51, of Scriba, passed away Thursday, January 1st, 2015, at University Hospital in Syracuse after a courageous, year-long battle with esophageal cancer. He was surrounded by family.

Colin was born on July 29, 1963 in Fulton to Theresa (Boutell) Darling and the late Raymond "Wig" Darling. He graduated from Mexico Academy High School, and Mohawk Valley Community College. He worked for Niagara Mohawk and Constellation as a nuclear operator at Unit 2. He became a licensed operator in 1995. He was an operator for 30 years. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed following SU basketball, the Miami Dolphins, and the Oakland A's. In the past, Colin played in men's basketball, softball, and flag football leagues. He coached Oswego Little League baseball, and Oswego Pride softball teams.

Colin was a devoted father to Tom and Caty. He enjoyed watching them play their sports in high school and college.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kelly (Holland) Darling of Scriba; two children, Thomas Darling and Cathryn "Caty" Darling, both living at home; his mother, Theresa Darling of Mexico; two siblings, Terry (Misty) Darling of Davenport, FL, and Sarah (Jay) Rector of Parish; his father-in-law, Donald Pachoud of Fulton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a nephew, Heath Pitcher.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Wednesday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Spring burial will be in Mexico Village Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 2:00 to 4:00, and 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday, at the funeral home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
