Colleen Kaiser, 67, of Oswego, New York recently passed away due to a terminal illness.
She was at home surrounded by her family. Colleen was born in Memphis, Tennessee, daughter of late Donald Smith and Beatrice (Bickford) Smith. She lived most of her life in the Scriba area and attended Mexico High School. She later went on to receive her A.A.S. in Criminal Justice from Cayuga Community College.
She enjoyed music, reading, gardening, knitting, researching genealogy, and spending time with her family.
Colleen is survived by her long-time dedicated partner, Robert Ferguson, her daughters Christine Barnes-Farrell (Ed), Robin Barnes-Burdick (Marvin), Kimberly Barnes-Jada (Louis), Margaret Kaiser (David), her son James Ferguson (Alinna), her grandchildren Nicholas Barnes (Liz), Zachary Farrell, Jacob Farrell, Kayla Burdick-Slater (Brian), Natasha Burdick Romano (Zach), Arianna Burdick-Wrixon (Dylan), Evan Burdick, Natalie Jada, Dahlia Cohn, Sarane Cohn, her great-grandchildren Eddie Salm, Jonathon Barnes, Ryker Slater, Brantley Romano, Bowen Wrixon, and Cyrus Wrixon. In addition, Colleen is survived by her siblings Donald Smith (Bonnie), Douglas Smith (Judy), Eileen Sloyka and several nieces and nephews.
Colleen is predeceased by her daughter Beth Ferguson and brothers Grant Lindsey and Dennis Smith. “You are forever in our memories, we will miss you”, your loving family.
Calling hours will be held Friday March 9th 4-7pm at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
Gathering will take place Saturday, March 10th at 10:30 am at Oswego Alliance Church, 337 Thompson Road, Oswego, NY. Memorial service will take place following at 11:30 am with lunch to follow at the Oswego Alliance Community Center.
