The Oswego County Office for the Aging is warning seniors to be aware of phone scams where the resident is asked to wire money to help a relative who is "in trouble."
The inaugural Hollis Harvest Festival was a huge success, with 551 visitors who enjoyed trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving, ghost hunts on the Camp Hollis trails, Halloween arts and crafts, a performance by Jeff the Magic Man, a lit pumpkin trail, pumpkin passports and other fall themed activities.
The Oswego County Department of Social Services sponsors an informational meeting from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at 100 Spring St., Mexico for people who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents.
For almost three decades, employees at the Oswego County Department of Social Services have been helping families in need during the holiday season. The annual Children's Christmas Fund has grown from a toy giveaway initially aimed at foster children to include more than 1,600 children in 600 families last Christmas.

Once again, the Oswego Elks' Lodge 271 representatives toured Oswego elementary schools and continued support of area youth.
