Write a commentLocal businesses are stepping up to support the upcoming "Out Run Autism" 5K run/walk planned for April 2 beginning in front of the Press Box in Oswego.
Organizers are expecting over 200 participants in the event that also includes a "Breakfast of Autism Champions" for those who may not want to walk or run but would like to support the Oswego County Autism Task Force and families touched by Autism in Oswego County. To register, go towww.auyertiming.com before Thursday, March 31. Limited same day registration is available.
Non-runners and walkers can also participate by enjoying a delicious meal for a great local cause. The Inaugural "OutRun Autism" 5k & “Breakfast of Autism Champions” will benefit the Oswego County Autism Task Force who provide Autism Awareness and creates possibilities for those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder in Oswego County.
The 5k run will kick off at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Press Box Restaurant on East First Street in Oswego with awards to follow. All runners looking to celebrate the cause post-race or supporters looking to cheer on runners can stay warm in the Press Box and enjoy the "Breakfast of Autism Champions" (from 9am - 11 am for additional cost paid upon service to the Press Box) and proceeds will go be donated to the event as well.
“We are expecting a great group of runners/walkers and supporters for this first of its kind events in the Oswego Area,” noted Julie Chetney, Race Director. “Supporting local children and families who have been touched by Autism Spectrum Disorder with this 5K and breakfast will be a wonderful community event for all who are looking to support the cause.”
Registration is open by going to going to www.auyertiming.com. Cut off for race shirts is March 15 and the cost increases after this date. Donations can also be made on the site, and all are welcome to cheer on runners at the Press Box the morning of the race.
